The Segway Ninebot Max G3, F3/F3 Pro and GT3 External Battery is designed for riders who use their electric scooter frequently and want to extend their range without changing their model. With a 468 Wh (10 Ah) capacity at 48 V, this official external battery works as an extension of the internal battery, allowing longer rides even at top speed.
It is a practical solution for daily commuting, long urban routes, and weekend rides, offering more freedom without compromising the original riding experience.

Water resistance and daily use of the Segway Ninebot Max G3, F3/F3 Pro and GT3 External Battery
The Segway Ninebot Max G3, F3/F3 Pro and GT3 External Battery is rated IPX7, meaning it is designed to withstand water exposure. However, one important rule applies: once installed, the scooter’s original waterproof rating becomes the reference.
In real-world use, this means riders should maintain the same level of caution in wet conditions, even though the external battery itself is well protected.
Charging the Segway Ninebot Max G3, F3/F3 Pro and GT3 External Battery
Charging times for the Segway Ninebot Max G3, F3/F3 Pro and GT3 External Battery depend on the scooter model and the charger used.
For the Ninebot F3 and F3 Pro, a full charge takes around 19.5 hours with the standard charger, or about 7.5 hours with a 48 V fast charger.
For the Ninebot Max G3, charging takes approximately 8.5 hours, reduced to 4.5 hours with a fast charger.
For the Segway GT3, the indicated charging time is around 9.5 hours.
A critical point to remember is that the external battery must be installed on the scooter to be charged. It should never be charged separately, as this may cause system errors or damage.
For riders looking to further reduce charging time, Segway offers an optional 48 V fast charger.
Smart energy management of the Segway Ninebot Max G3, F3/F3 Pro and GT3 External Battery
Energy management between the internal and external batteries is fully automatic. When the scooter is parked and the external battery is above 20 percent, it recharges the internal battery to keep it at a healthy level. If the internal battery drops below 30 percent, the system prioritizes its recharge to prevent unexpected shutdowns.
While riding, the external battery is used first. When higher power is required, both batteries work together seamlessly to maintain performance.
During charging, the internal battery is charged first, followed by the external battery, as long as it is properly installed.
